AZBio offers ASU tuition scholarships to Member employees and dependents

Member benefit provides a 15% tuition scholarship toward more than 400 ASU Online degree and certificate programs

PHOENIX and LOS ANGELES, Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Arizona Bioindustry Association (AZBio) today announced the launch of the AZBio ASU Scholarship Program, a new Member benefit offered in partnership with InStride, a leading workforce development company. The program provides eligible employees of AZBio Member organizations and their dependents with a 15% tuition scholarship toward more than 400 degree and certificate programs from Arizona State University (ASU).

“AZBio is always looking for new ways to help our Members invest in the people powering Arizona’s growing life sciences community,” said Kevin Parker, Chairman of the Board of AZBio.“With this program, we make it easier for more people across our community to continue their education and build for the future.”

The scholarship is available to eligible employees and family members from day one. Participants can choose from ASU Online undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs in areas including business, healthcare, technology and leadership.

“Education opens doors for families in ways that last for generations,” said Craig Maloney, CEO of InStride. “Our partnership with AZBio means more employees and their loved ones will have meaningful help pursuing education that supports their goals, while helping Arizona’s life sciences industry build the talent it needs to thrive.”

“The AZBio ASU Scholarship Program complements our broader portfolio of Member benefits and resources,” said Joan Koerber-Walker, president and CEO of AZBio. “For over 20 years, AZBio Member Companies have benefited with millions of dollars in cost savings by using AZBio’s BIO Business Solutions® program. Now, with our AZBio ASU Scholarship Program, employees of AZBio Member Companies and their eligible family members can also save when they invest in continuing their educational journey.”

Cost savings are just one of the ways that AZBio is helping Arizona maintain its position as one of the fastest growing life science job creators in the United States. AZBio’s collaborations with AZAdvances and the Life Sciences Workforce Collaborative provide programs that develop the workforce and report on workforce trends. The Resource section of AZBio.org provides current and future AZBio Members with information on clinical trials, core labs, life science infrastructure, entrepreneurial education, and more.

“AZBio brings people together throughout the year to build the connections that are driving growth across Arizona’s life science ecosystem,” said Koerber- Walker. “In October, Arizona Bioscience Week events will connect our community with visitors from across the country and around the world.”

Arizona was the first state in the nation to host a week-long, state-wide event focused on its bioscience industry and has continued the tradition for over a decade. In 2026, Arizona Bioscience Week activities include statewide classroom education, student research showcases, networking events, research summits, investor conferences, patient gatherings, and more.
