Upcoming TPT License Renewals: What Businesses Need to Know
Phoenix, AZ—October marks the start of Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) license renewals. The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) will begin sending notices to business owners and must renew by January 1. Renewals received after January 31 may face penalties.
Paper Renewal Forms will only be sent to paper filers. AZTaxes users will receive email or letter reminders, as well as a notice on AZTaxes.gov.
Businesses with multiple locations are required by state law to renew their TPT licenses electronically. Electronic renewal options will be available soon on AZTaxes.gov.
Before renewing, businesses are encouraged to update and verify their account information to avoid unnecessary fees and penalties. On AZTaxes.gov, registered companies can:
- Update mailing addresses.
- Add, edit, or close locations.
- Cancel TPT licenses for closed businesses.
- Add new reporting jurisdictions or business codes.
If a business or specific location has closed, the license or location must be canceled. Licenses that are not renewed will automatically renew and be charged standard renewal fees. ADOR will also assess a renewal penalty of 50% of the total renewal fee for failure to renew by the due date.
Owner and officer information must be kept current using the Business Account Update Form 10193.
